Bradford Catholic Players proudly presents “The Glory Of Christmas” at St. Winifred’s RC Church, Wibsey. on 7th and 8th December 2017.
First published in 1980 by Jimmy & Carol Owens (co-creators of ‘The Witness’), “The Glory Of Christmas” is a telling of the nativity story but from a very human perspective.
Presented very appropriately in the season of advent, “The Glory Of Christmas” takes us back in time to see Mary and Joseph as the real people they were, simple village people who experienced truly extraordinary things. We hear from Joseph as he thinks about the responsibility before him of teaching the Son of God how to be a man. We hear (comically) from Herod’s wise men who missed the event that had been foretold for so long and from the poor terrified shepherds who, as humble as they were, were the first to greet the newborn infant.
“The Glory Of Christmas” reminds us through beautiful music and song of the ‘real-ness’ of these people and of the real meaning behind Christmas.
The production is going to be staged on the magnificent altar of St Winifred’s RC church in Wibsey and everyone is welcome, young and old alike.
